Work in Progress features frank, funny, and oftentimes deeply personal conversations with people who inspire Sophia. Covering guests’ professional lives, personal histories, and sometimes even political and social awakenings, the show gets to the root of how these influential people got to where they are and asks them each to speak about where they think they are still going. The show stemmed from multiple moving conversations that were each sparked by Sophia’s ah-ha moment — and now most-quoted piece of writing! — when she shared that she’d realized that we are each ‘allowed to be a work in progress and a masterpiece simultaneously.’

Hello Dear Listeners,
And Now Dear Readers!
I am so thrilled that you’ve joined me on this journey. Your presence here means a lot to me and the entire Work In Progress team. By showing up week after week, and bringing us with you on your commutes, runs, walks to work, drives to class, midnight baby feedings, and hikes, on your road trips and into your classrooms, you’re showing up for this community. For the people that make this show. For the guests who bare their hearts and welcome us into their worlds, and for me and my deep desire for more empathy, connection, understanding, and seeing each other. By being here, you’re saying that those things matter to you too. That we are similarly motivated and likewise inspired.
That this heart work matters. And that is the greatest gift. The notes you’ve sent about things you’ve learned along with us? About the conversations you’ve had with friends and family? And the episodes you’ve encouraged them to listen to? When you share out of excitement, or out of a desire for more understanding in relationships where you don’t see eye-to-eye? Those things bring us back, week after week, to work even harder at getting to the core of the people and ideas we are exploring here. Ideas that have the power to bring us together. We love doing this with you. Thanks for making it all possible. As this WIPsmart world grows, it’s because of you! We hope you enjoy this space; our newest digital offering.
